The theme of Memory Week 2018 is “Take Memory-Friendly Actions”. They are rewarded by local associations all over the country. In Finland the Memory Week is traditionally organised around World’s Alzheimer Day (week 38 in September). The aim of National Memory Programme 2012–2020 is to create a memory-friendly Finland.
The Alzheimer Society of Finland is launching Muistikummit during Memory Week.
Muistikummit is a Finnish version of Dementia Friends. It simply means finding out more about memory-related diseases and how these diseases affect a person. The information sessions are organised by volunteers of local associations across Finland. After sessions everyone can turn the knowledge into memory-friendly actions.
Every action counts, no matter how small. United, we can transform the way of thinking and acting. The aim of Alzheimer Society of Finland is to build a memory-friendly society step by step. Everyone with memory-related disease feels part of, not apart from, of that society.
