On 5 September 2019, Uniprix Canada and its partner retailers, in partnership with the Alzheimer Society of Canada and the Federation of Quebec Alzheimer Society’s (FQSA), launched the Journée Alzheimer Campaign.
The Journée Alzheimer is a multi-year partnership between Uniprix Canada and ASC/FQSA. The focus of the campaign is to provide dementia focused educational tools and information to Uniprix customers across the province of Quebec and to inform them of local programs and services available to them through our local Alzheimer Societies.
The partnership is also designed to give our local Societies the opportunity to host fundraising events in-store or to encourage donations to the Society through the FQSA website.
“This partnership demonstrates our commitment to play an even greater role in the well-being of the communities we serve,” explains Alain Arel, President of Uniprix. “By combining our efforts with those of the FQAS, our ‘Family Pharmacists’ will be able to build on the human side of the practice and make a real difference in the quality of life of their patients,” he explains.
Paule Racine, Vice-President of Marketing, Retail Pharmacies, adds: “In addition to raising awareness and educating the public about the disease, this agreement will strengthen the role of our ‘Family Pharmacists’. As front-line health professionals who are easily accessible to all, our pharmacists will be able to provide added value to those directly or indirectly affected by Alzheimer’s disease.”
