Oman - 4th Alzheimer’s Month National Symposium

  • Muscat Holiday Hotel Muscat Oman (map)

This symposium targets both health care professionals and dementia caregivers. The aim is to raise public awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.

This year we will adapt the theme introduced by ADI, which is “Let’s talk about dementia, end the stigma”. The programme will feature a short talk about Alzheimer’s disease and how to identify early symptoms and support patients. Two caregivers will then talk about their experiences of caring for a person with dementia, as well as the challenges they faced and how to overcome them. One of our volunteers with deliver a presentation entitled “Alzheimer’s, what is next“ to highlight the recent advances in dementia care and what can be done to support the patients and their caregivers. We will also show short video about stigma and dementia, asking members of the public what they have in mind when they hear the term “dementia”.
